Meet Stephanie
Stephanie Villarreal, KPA-CTP, CPDT-KA, FFCP, is the owner and trainer at Impackt Dog Training. From a young age, Stephanie has been interacting with animals of all sizes, from the horses she rode for equestrian sport to playing with the family cat, Autumn.
Stephanie’s passion for animals only grew when she was studying agricultural communications at Texas Tech University. She continued to work with horses at the University’s Therapeutic Riding Center, and was overjoyed to adopt her first dog, Macy. Macy was around 3 when she was adopted and had spent most of her life in a shelter because she was deaf. Since her family never had dogs during her upbringing, Stephanie set out to learn as much as she could about training to help give Macy the best life possible. She enrolled in training classes at the local obedience school and learned quickly how to communicate effectively with her new family member.
As Stephanie continued to work with Macy and grow her four-legged family by adopting Lucy, she found training options to be limited. She finally discovered positive reinforcement training and knew it could transform the lives of not only her animals, but many others. She was introduced to the Karen Pryor Academy during her work at a doggie daycare and enrolled. She graduated from the program in March of 2019. Stephanie is also a Fear Free Certified Professional (FFCP) and a Certified Professional Dog Trainer – Knowledge Assessed (CPDT-KA).
Stephanie’s experience with training dogs extends beyond her home with many years of experience in both animal rescues and doggie daycares. She was most recently the general manager of a daycare business and has used her skills to ensure her guests were in a safe, supportive environment. Over the years, she and her wife have rescued and fostered multiple furry friends, and their household currently includes 4 dogs (Macy, Lucy, Artemis, and Zarya) and 1 cat (Minerva). She has seen first hand the impact that good training and consistency have on both pets and their owners and is excited to help other families do the same.
